Terms & Conditions

By enrolling at The Kushinagar Library, you agree to the following terms. Please read them carefully before joining.

  • Membership is valid for the duration of the selected plan (weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually).
  • Membership is strictly non-transferable and cannot be shared with another individual.
  • A valid government-issued photo ID is required at the time of enrollment.
  • The library reserves the right to cancel membership in case of misconduct or violation of rules.
  • Renewal must be completed before the expiry date to avoid seat reallocation.
  • Seats are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to availability.
  • A member must occupy their reserved seat within 30 minutes of the allotted time, or the seat may be released.
  • Saving seats for others or reserving multiple seats is strictly prohibited.
  • The library management may reassign seats at its discretion for operational reasons.
  • Walk-in access without prior booking is permitted only if seats are available.
  • Absolute silence must be maintained inside the reading hall at all times.
  • Mobile phones must be kept on silent mode. Phone calls must be taken outside the premises.
  • Consumption of food inside the reading area is strictly prohibited. Only water (in sealed bottles) is permitted.
  • Littering, spitting, or any form of vandalism will result in immediate termination of membership.
  • Any form of harassment, discrimination, or disrespectful behaviour towards staff or fellow members is a ground for permanent ban.
  • Dress code: modest and appropriate attire is expected at all times.
  • Each member is allocated one personal locker for the duration of their membership.
  • The library is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings left inside lockers or the premises.
  • Lockers must be cleared and handed over upon expiry or cancellation of membership.
  • Items found in uncleaned lockers after 7 days of membership expiry will be disposed of.
  • Storing food, liquids, or prohibited materials inside lockers is not allowed.
  • High-speed WiFi (up to 200 Mbps) is provided exclusively for academic and study-related use.
  • Streaming movies, downloading large files, or accessing inappropriate content is strictly prohibited and may result in internet access being revoked.
  • The library is not responsible for interruptions in internet service due to external factors.
  • Charging sockets are provided for personal devices only. Power strips or extensions are not permitted.
  • Any misuse or tampering of library equipment will attract penalty charges and possible membership cancellation.
  • All membership fees are to be paid in advance. No credit or deferred payment is accepted.
  • Fees are non-refundable once the membership has been activated, except in exceptional medical circumstances with valid documentation.
  • The free demo session is available once per individual. Repeated demo requests will not be entertained.
  • The library reserves the right to revise its fee structure with a minimum of 15 days' prior notice.
  • In case of closure due to public holidays or unforeseen circumstances, no refund or compensatory access shall be provided.
  • The premises are under 24/7 CCTV surveillance for the safety and security of all members.
  • By enrolling, members give their consent to being recorded within the library premises.
  • CCTV footage is confidential and will only be reviewed in cases of complaint, theft, or security incidents.
  • Photographs or videos of other members without their explicit consent are strictly prohibited.
  • Personal data collected during enrollment is used solely for library operations and will not be shared with third parties.
  • Library operating hours are 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight), seven days a week.
  • Entry after closing time will not be permitted under any circumstances.
  • Members must log their entry and exit using the provided biometric or QR-based system.
  • Guests or visitors are not permitted inside the study area at any time.
  • Members found inside the premises beyond closing time will be escorted out and may be subject to disciplinary action.

The management of The Kushinagar Library reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. Continued use of the library after any amendment constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. For any disputes, the jurisdiction shall be Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. By using our facilities, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

Introduction

Welcome to The Kushinagar Library. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our library facilities, services, and digital platforms. By registering as a member or using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms.

1. Membership

  • Valid government photo ID required at enrollment.
  • Membership is personal and non-transferable.
  • Management can revoke membership for policy violations without refund.
  • Renewal must be completed before plan expiry.

2. Conduct

  • Maintain silence in the reading hall at all times.
  • Phones on silent; calls outside the premises only.
  • No food inside; only sealed water bottles permitted.
  • Harassment or vandalism leads to permanent ban.

3. Facilities

  • WiFi for study/academic use only — no media streaming.
  • Charging sockets for personal devices only.
  • Report damage to equipment to management immediately.
  • Lockers to be cleared on membership expiry.

4. Fees & Refunds

  • All fees payable in advance; no deferred payments.
  • Fees are non-refundable after activation except for documented medical reasons.
  • Free demo: once per person only.
  • Fee revisions notified 15 days in advance.

5. Privacy & Security

  • CCTV operates 24/7; enrollment implies consent to recording.
  • Personal data used for library operations only; not shared with third parties.
  • No photography of other members without consent.

6. Timings & Access

  • Open 6:00 AM – 12:00 AM, seven days a week.
  • No late entry after closing time.
  • Guests not permitted in the study area.
  • Log entry/exit via biometric or QR system.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. All disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. The Kushinagar Library management's decision on all matters is final and binding.

8. Amendments

The Kushinagar Library reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Members will be notified of significant changes via notice board and the mobile app. Continued use of the library constitutes acceptance of any revised terms.
